Meet Some Of Our Great Team!

There are endless reasons to join our family here at The Abbey Hotel, but don't take just our word for it. See what some of our incredible team have to say about their time in hospitality and The Abbey Hotel!

Cluster Sales Office Manager | Rachel

I joined the team at The Abbey Hotel in 2008, working part-time hours in both Housekeeping and Food and Beverage while attending college. I took some time off to finish my studies, then returned to The Abbey in the Sales team, focusing on private events and weddings.

Following maternity leave, I rejoined the Sales team as a Meeting & Events Coordinator before being promoted to Senior Sales Coordinator. In 2021, I was promoted to Sales Office Manager, and now I am the Cluster Sales Office Manager for our sister site, Lea Marston Hotel.

I love the progression The Abbey Hotel has offered me, along with the strong support system I have had throughout my career.

Food & Beverage Manager | Steph

I’m Steph, and I worked for The Abbey for eight years before COVID. I then came back in 2021 and picked up where I left off as Senior Conference and Events Supervisor.

I love working for The Abbey because they are flexible with my family commitments. I was recently promoted to Food and Beverage Manager, and I have a brilliant, hard-working team that supports me in getting the job done. There are some amazing training opportunities, and progression within the company is always a priority. We also have great benefits, such as free use of the gym and swimming pool, discounts on a range of hotels across the country, a great bonus incentive and plenty of team events including our annual Christmas party, we had an awards night and I won Miss Abbey, which was voted for by the entire team.

Cluster Golf Manager/Head Professional | Rob

I joined The Abbey as a teaching professional after gaining a class A PGA qualification in 2000. In 2001 I became Head Golf Professional and have been instrumental in the development & continual growth of the golf section of the business.  Since 2019 I also oversaw the commercial aspects of golf at our sister hotel Lea Marston, in my current role as Cluster Golf Manager.

I am as passionate as I have ever been about the continued success of golf and the overall business. Mine and my amazing teams vast experience & knowledge of the industry is a real asset!

Assistant Food & Beverage Manager | Liam

When I first started at The Abbey in 2021 as a Food and Beverage Assistant, I wasn’t very confident in what I was doing. On-the-job training from management and supervisors really helped me gain confidence and has allowed me to get where I am now. I have learned many transferable skills while working at The Abbey, from professional communication to sudden problem-solving situations. I was recently promoted to Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, and I won Employee of the Year at our team awards night! I’m proud to say I work at The Abbey. They push for development and are with you every step of the way.
